Due to the pandemic situation a lot of us started to feel lonely.

Of course the main reason for that was the fact that we had to be locked up in our flats with no direct contact with each other for prolonged periods of time.

That is the obvious.

Before the pandemic, phones and computers often felt enough to feel happy and connected.

During the crisis we still could communicate with each other in that way.

So why this sudden sense of loneliness?

As the human race, for centuries, we have been feeling like we are more than animals - that we are no longer part of nature. Due to technological developments it felt like we are so ahead of everything that surrounds us, that the natural world is no longer important to us.

The pandemic actually proved that this way of thinking is wrong.

It does not matter how far we will progress with technology.

We still have very basic needs and an urge to feel connected with the natural world.

The feeling of loneliness many developed during the crisis was in fact caused by this lack of connection with the natural world.

Nature is what makes us whole.
